Serial Thug and promoter arrested for stealing car parts in Kiteezi
On April 7th, 2023, Police received a tip-off from the Kabaga-Kayanga Zone Security Secretary in Kiteezi Ward, Kasangati Town Council, Wakiso District, that Bukenya Rogers, 30, was in possession of parts of suspected stolen vehicles. The stolen items included breaking lights, side mirrors, and four switch locks, which he admitted to stealing from a car (UBH 533C fielder) belonging to Sekasanvu Andrew,
Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said the Kiteezi Police post and the UPDF team, were informed and arrested the killer. Further investigations led to the arrest of his promoter Nagaba Nicholas (an adult male, 30), who had come to buy the stolen goods. Police recovered the stolen items, valued at Rs 3,100,000/=.
Luke said Bukenya Rogers admitted to being a serial thug who had been stealing various cars for two years. He revealed that he and his colleagues often sold stolen spare parts to a man at Zion Plaza in Kiseka market.
He said police are searching for the buyer and his shop, and efforts are being made to identify any suspected stolen items. The case file will be sent to the Resident Attorney General for advice when the investigation is completed .
He also commends the vigilant defense secretary and his team for their efforts to apprehend the suspect and we urge the public to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
