KADAGA TELLS MILK TRADERS TO IGNORE KENYAN MARKET AND LOOK FOR OTHER MARKETS ELSEB WHERE

The first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Affairs Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga has advised  milk traders to venture into other market opportunities else were in the region and in other regions of the world.

The minister to have suchv advise was responding to the public out cry when Kenya which has been the largestl market for Uganda stop accepting milk imports from Uganda 

While addressing reporters at the office of the president in Kampala on May 22, 2023 she said  that as a line ministet for East African she tried to talk to the authories in Kenya but faiked to reach at a solution because  a coup of  politians in Kenya are sabotaging.

”  Our  milk traders should stop lamenting about the Kenyan market at this moment  and start looking for markets else where because  I have tried to negotiate  for reponing of the market but the negotiations seem not yield ever lasting solutions” Hon. Kadaga advise.

He said that the  Kenyan authorities have again given him a headache over milk and he called Milano’  on Saturday to tell her what led to the re-ban on Ugandan milk.

Kadaga said there may be people who do not want Uganda to sell milk to Kenya who want to take back the market in Kenya on the grounds that Uganda’s milk is not of quality and that where they had done to corn traders on the grounds of quality Uganda is not running to fight those who prevent milk from going to Kenya.

Kadaga pointed out the achievements of the Ministry of East African Affairs in the NRM Manifesto since the ministry was established in 2007. She said they have been able to create markets in neighboring countries including Congo, Tanzania and South Sudan.

He said the ministry of East African Affairs has been able to promote and teach Swahili in schools in Uganda with the aim of being the only language in the East African countries.

Kadaga said he had been trying to ensure that East African countries had a common currency and it would happen.
