The Uganda Dance Sport Federation General Secretary Barnabas Ssebuyungo has the Federation is ring fencing its operations we a purpose of ensuring that he deals with professionals.
He said that he is aiming purposely at using the right people who know and are very familiar with the sport so as to avoid intruders and people who have only personal interests.
General Secretary said this while addressing the Dance Sport delegates’ from the different regions of the country who converged at the Federation Offices Mengo, Mutesa II road on June 4 2024 to attend training aimed at equipping them with knowledge on the Federation policies and skills of running the sport in general.
“We realize Sports is an industry, therefore we want to work with people who ready to learn and grow with the sport such that they became professionals.” Ssebuyungo said.
He adds: “We want to create professional carriers as a wide scope for the sport such that in future we can have the medical personnel such as nurses, coaches to serve the sport and also have other professionals like Engineers, Architects or Human resource Managers.”
“The delegates who include, the chairpersons and Secretaries of the 15 respective regions were call here to attend a training about the delegates Structures and take them to the grass roots, as well as enact policies together as we prepare for the forthcoming Annual General Assembly which is due to take place next month.”
The Federation will also next weekend train two students from the member schools so as to equip them with skills like adjudicating and being master of ceremonies when there games in the regions.
Rashid Byenkya a delegate from Rwenzori region who is also the General Secretary for the Dance Sport in the region said that he has gotten the knowledge which he will transfer to the region and grass roots for the development of the sport.
‘’I am already in the system and I have been spear heading the sports Association in Rwenzori and Kabalore now having acquired the skills it will be able to mobilize and spread the Dance Sport in the region very well.’’ Byenkya said.
Hellen from Mukono region said that in the training the was equipped with knowledge and skills of mobilization in her area and she will be able to go various schools in the region and preach the gospel of Sport Dance.
