‘JOOGO’ SC VILLA RECRUITS A SERBIAN TACTICIAN AND FORMER KCCA FC BYEKWASO

In an effort to restructure the Club, SC Villa as recruited a Serbian tactician to handle the club in the next two years so as to spear it to the first glory in 20 years.

The Serbian tactician, Dusan Stojanovic was unveiled on Tuesday at a function held at the club’s offices in Industrial Area, Kampala and he put on paper his signature after agreeing a two year deal.

Stojanovic replaced Jackson Magera who nearly won SC Villa their first league title in 19 years but his success was tainted by URA FC on the last day of the 2022/23 season thus losing the title to the defending champion Vipers SC.

While unveiling the new coach, Club Vice President Daniel Bakaki told sports reporters that the changes are part of the restructuring of the team in order to revive their glory days that will see tem conquer the local and African Football.

“SC Villa is a big brand in Uganda’s football , therefor we have a grand plan of returning to our very best. To achieve this, we shall be making alterations in different departments and one of those is the technical team. We appreciate the work done by the departing coaching staff and we with then in their new endeavors. We also have high hopes that the new staff will move us to the next stage.” Bakaki said.

He adds;”We have appointed Serbian Stojanovic because we looked at him and realized that he has experience on African football. We welcome him at the most successful club in Uganda’s football arena and we expect a lot from him.”

Stojanovic will be working with former KCCA FC coach Morley Byekwaso as his assistant and he was appointed on a three-year contract but he will also be in charge of the junior team as well.

A reliable sources told this website that Stojanovic was recommended by Uganda Crane’s Head coach Milutin Sredojevic aka Micho, a former SC Villa coach,  the two tacticinas have previously worked together with Stojanovic serving as assistant to Micho at Zamalek and Zambia National Team.

After his unveiling, the coach indicated he is ready to work and improve SC Villa.

“I want to thank everyone who made my arrival possible. I know SC Villa because of their long glory and tradition,” he started before adding.

At the same event, Isaac Mwesigwa was also unveiled as the new CEO replacing Eng. William Nkemba. Mwesigwa has been serving in the same role at SC Villa’s long time arch rivals Express FC.
