Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC have acquired the services of youngster Joel Sserunjogi who put pen on paper on September 3, 2023.
Sserunjogi’s contract will see him spend the next three years at Lugogo based Omondi Stadium his unveiling was made official on Thursday evening.
The club’s authority also confirmed that Sserunjogi’s contract has an option of extension for an additional year after the completion of his three years.
“Youngster Joel Sserunjogi has completed his move to KCCA Football Club,” reads a statement from the club.
The youngster, aged 21, is a defensive midfielder who can also operate as a central defender and he brings in that competition in KCCA’S midfield.
He has been recently playing for Buddu in the ongoing Masaza Cup competition. But before moving to Buddu, he was at Busiro, the reigning champion of the Buganda Kingdom prestigious competition
He is a very amazing talent given his attributes on the ball and he has proved that while in the Masaza cup competition. Previously, he also played for Kajjansi United, a side that features in the regional League.
Sserunjogi becomes the seventh signing for KCCA after the arrival of, Adison Bruno, Brazilians Joao Gabriel, Vinicius Michael, and Angola’s Emilson Gonzaga, Cungulo Da Silva and Etienne Katenga.
The club also promoted some youngsters to the senior team including Alex Yiga, Abubakar Mayanja and Anthony Emojong among others.
They have also let go of a couple of senior players including one of their top performers last season in defender Geoffrey Wasswa.
Meanwhile the club have departed ways with some players who include, former captain and the club’s long time serving goal keeper Benjamin Ochan, Allan Okello Brian Aheebwa, Mustafa Kizza, Geofrey Wasswa, Brian Majwega and Ali Mugulusi.
