ON RAPE RUKIGA CRB 361/2023
The territorial police in Rukiga have arrested a healthy worker one Darius Orikiriza 38yrs an enrolled nurse attached to Mparo health centre 4 and resident of the health centre quarters Mparo ward/ town council Rwamucucu sub county Rukiga district, who is alleged to have raped a 20yrs Elizabeth Orishabaa resident of Maaya cell Kitanga parish Kashambya sub county Rukiga district.
It’s alleged that on 21/08/2023 at around 1300hrs, the victim who is 7 months pregnant had gone for medical check up at the said medical facility, and,she was referred to scanning department which was being operated by now the suspect.
On arrival she was directed to remove her clothes and was accordingly forced into canal knowledge.
She there after immediately informed the in charge of the facility who later informed police for further management.
According ASP Mate Elly police spokesperson in Kigezi said ateam of detectives dispatched commanded
by Dpc and Oc cid who documented the scene, the suspect was arrested, swabs were obtained from the victim and the suspect by the health workers from the same facility for onward submission to GAL for analysis, and the suspect tested for his HIV status.
