The roads in Kampala are in a mess with potholes everywhere and blocked sewers that do not carry sewage which has caused people to lose their lives and unnecessary delay along the way due to potholes.
The worst roads are sir Apollo, salama road, katwe, kisenyi road.
Dorothy Kisaka, the mayor of Kibunga, warned that the roads to be constructed this year starting with Sir Apollo road will be filled with soil, while Salama road will be filled with collagen in September.
Kisaka said KCCA does not have enough money to build roads and now they are putting in soil that cannot be removed quickly from the hole where they are putting it.
Kisaka said they have allocated Rs 1 billion for the 36-month road maintenance in Kampala.
And He added that M7 went to buy roads in Kampala.
He said salama is a source of inspiration but it has a hospital where people have been falling into pits so the people of salama will be happy.
Kisaka said the funds for the road rehabilitation in Kampala have come from the Africa Development Bank.
He urged the people of Salama Road not to obstruct those who are going to build the road because the government has no money to be given to them if they refuse to donate the land where the road will pass.
We want Kampala to become a slum
Kisaka said they want the roads in Kampala to be all lighted
He warned the workers of the salama road that if they do it wrong they will pay.
However, the elected official said the government is about money but refuses to build roads for the people of Kampala but KCCA is stealing money
He said they will fight until the government gives them the money to build the road.
Eris Lukwango said there is no foreign entity that can deposit money in the KCCA account at Banga where they were depositing it by robbing the government.
Now the outside water sources decided that where the money is, it made the road
Now they are only giving them to companies but unfortunately the robbers have started setting up road construction companies.
