POLICE SUSPECT MASINDI DISTRICT HEALTH OFFICER’S WIFE HAS A HAND IN HIS DEATH

Preliminary findings by Police CID and Albertine region investigating teams link Dr. Abiriga Jino’s wife Chelotic Betty 31, a teacher to his death.

 Dr. Abiriga 58, who has been Masindi District Health Officer, was murdered on Saturday night and his body dumped 50 meters away from his residence located in Kijura Cell Central Division Masindi Municipality.

The Police spokesperson Fred Enanga confirmed that the body of the deceased was discover a few meters away from his home with deep cuts on the neck and multiple wounds on his head.

Mr. Enanga informed reporters in a weekly press conference at Naguru police headquarters on Monday 8th ,2024 that the that the investigating teams conducted a search at the deceased house and got suspected blood stains on the walls of the bed room and under marital bed.

He also said that the suspect , the deceased’s wife claimed that Dr. Abiriga was called by someone just after entering their bedroom to go and carry out a surgical operation but investigators have so far not found any evidence on the claim but instead found blood stain on wall of the bedroom and under their marital bed.

It’s alleged that on the fateful day of Abiriga’s death, on Saturday 7th, January, he went to attend the wedding of his friend and his driver drove him back at around 9:00pm and at 10:00pm he went to his bedroom together with the wife. The couple was sleeping in a two roomed house while their children also went to sleep in other two double rooms on the same building which was fenced.

The children are identified as Asero Angela17, a daughter to the deceased, Chelotic Moreen14 and Kiprotic Keneth 11 step daughter and son respectively, Afako Jackline 12 also the deceased’s niece and Arinaitwe Desire a daughter to his friend.
