The Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Nabbanja Robinah at loggerhead again with Kakumiro district local government leaders for her dictatorship methods of influencing all technical works at the district, something leaders say is undermining the development of the district.
It’s alleged that She bulldozed members of the District Roads Committee because she wanted to divert the road construction which had been passed by the district council to another area of her interest.
These angered councilors and the district chairman because the road planned to be constructed in this financial year serves a big population. However, the leaders allege that the rift here is because Kikada-Ikuma-Kikamba area whose road she wants to be considered first is one of her strong hold politically, and that she is doing this as a way of punishing the people in the other area whose road the district council planned to construct because they supported Hon. Mebal Bakeine who is not in her camp and that most of them are just migrants from other parts of the country.
The District Roads Committee had advised that these roads be contracted at least such that the money that was sent from central government does not go back, and that the one Grader they have keeps breaking down, and when it breaks down the Ministry of works Engineers take long to repair them, which brings a setback in the works. But because the PM has always wanted to frustrate the work of the District due to her she un popularity there, she also wants other politicians to fall in the same category.
The acts of the PM are making the district and NRM government loose out. In fact when we spoke to a few people they said that they want to join other political parties to break the curse of poor leadership in the area since they are being taken for granted because they support NRM and now they think people do not know any other party.
When people in the electorate were asked about their registration with the Party, they said, who can dare pick them from their home to go to vote, they will wait for the General Election. And they will vote for the people they feel shall bring peace and development in their area.
They also say that, they have a big office as Kakumiro, but it is like a curse to them. Actually this is where all the downfall of the district and NRM are rooting from.
One of the people in the area who preferred to remain anonymous said instead of working for the people or showing what she has done for her district in the period she has been in the big office, the PM is instead busy intimidating people in the district she feels are not supporting her.
She is ever threatening them saying that the Army will go for them, blackmailing people who are not supporting her that they are doing bad deeds to cause their arrest. People are also saying that prime minister wants to take their area back to the dark days which took NRM to bush.
Nabbanja is also faulted for wanting to determine which leader should contest in which are like now as she normally says that for her she doesn’t beg but she directs she has been caught influencing not to transfer Mr. Mawejje the CAO and the RDC who are fighting each and every Politician who is not in her support by using them not to approve any money going to these people and any district department where she feels that these people are not supporting her.
The district chairman Mr. Sentayi Senkusu Joseph who doesn’t see eye in eye with Nabbanja and other leaders were left disgruntled after Museveni’s mini-reshuffle spared the prime minister because they expected her to dropped because of the several scandals like that of the ‘mabaati’.
In the audio that went viral, Sentayi is hard saying that, what has Museveni done for us, he has not dropped the lady he wants our district to lag behind in terms of development.
And she is doing all these using taxpayer’s money to compromise all the ministries concerned from above, she is fronting money in everything even where it is not due.
Some of the disgruntled Kakumiro people wants to Channel their support to opposition in order to get rid of what they termed as very disturbing way of leadership. They have also wondered whether there is intelligence in this government.
