The speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Among has argued Mbarara Muslim Supreme Council leaders to work for unity and development for their people.
She made the advice in a meeting with the Council leaders from Mbarara District, led by Mbarara South Member of Parliament Mwine Mpaka and the council chairman Imam Sheikh Adam Abbasi at her office on 4th April, 2024.
In their engagement, she emphasized the importance in shaping the Nation’s future. she urged them to advocate for leaders who will prioritize unity and development, and rebuke those who habitually oppose every government initiative without considering their potential benefits.
“ Here at parliament we don’t segregate people in terms of religion. We ensure that all people are supported irrespective of their ethnicity, tribe, physical ability or religious affiliations.’’ The Rt. Hon Speaker said.
She also argued the leaders to apply for jobs advertised in the different government agencies that she will help to secure for them if notified about the government agency they have applied from.
