MAKINDYE MAYOR MULYANYAMA ARGUE GOVERNMENT TO LISTEN TO TRADERS PLEA

Makindye Division Mayor Kasirye Mulyanyama Nganda likens Government to a person suffering from Elephantiasis disease because of refusing to listen to the Traders plea on taxes.

While addressing reporters at Nakivubo Blue Playground, he said that the method of levying and handling has negatively affect businesses and many traders have closed their businesses while those still operating are operating on losses.

Despite continued plea by traders to government to consider revising the tax regimes and also halt on the EFRIS system of collecting, the Commissioner General of Uganda Revenue Authority John Musinguzi while on a talk show on a cert TV assured traders that the INSRI system will not be removed because its efficient and effective.

The Mayor also condemned the act of beating Muslims by security operatives who turned up at Kololo Independence grounds recently to receive rice for Ifatari during the Ramathan.

“Muslim leaders should start mobilizing for funds from fellow affluent Muslims and other non-Muslim well-wishers to provide food to those who are unable to cater for such a basic necessity.” Moyar Mulyanyama argued.

He delivered Shs 1million that NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine donated to the Muslim community of Nakasero Mosque to by food.

Mulyanyama further said, “People die in their cars while parked in parking yards due to the heavy taxes that have made their businesses collapse.”

He also said that he doesn’t have hope in Balaamu Barugahara the new Minister for Youth Affairs who said that he will talk to president Museveni and ask him to pardon the youth political activities languishing in prisons.

The Mayor said that most of the youth who are political prisoners are being hoodwinked for supporting Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) and his National Unity Platform Party.
