RELIEF IN GREATER MBARARA REGION AS FIVE HARDCORE CRIMINALS ARE ARRESTED

People in greater Mbarara region (Rwizi region) will now have a breathing space and good sleep after arrest of notorious criminals who have been terrorizing the area overtime.

This followed a successful intelligence-led operation by Police with the help of other sister security agencies targeting these hardcore criminals in the region, where five suspects have been arrested and detained as further investigations are underway.

The arrested suspects are identified as Kamusiime Alex, Tindyebwa Danson, Ssenyonjo Akuraishi Ssentongo Hamdan a.k.a and Issa January.

The police’s mouthpiece SCP Fred Enanga said that, “Their apprehension marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to combat crime and bring perpetrators to justice.’’

Police has been for a long time looking for these bandits for various crimes, including; murder, aggravated robberies, and motorcycle thefts within the Rwizi region.

“These individuals were apprehended as a result of meticulous intelligence gathering and coordinated efforts by law enforcement agencies, with the aim of curbing criminal activities and ensuring the safety and security of the residents in the Rwizi region.’’ SCP Enanga revealed.

During the operations, stolen items and exhibits were also recovered, for instance Motorcycle Bajaj Boxer with registration number UEM 132S, an assortment of pangas and knives (traditional weapons), four flat –screen TV sets, Two Itel button phones, two Airtel sim cards, and an army camouflage cap. The suspects have been charged at Ruti Police Station, pending further inquiries and the recovery of additional stolen motorcycles.

The Rwizi Regional Police expressed gratitude to the community who provided valuable information and assisted in the apprehension of these hardcore criminals.

“We encourage the public to continue working closely with the police by reporting any suspicious activities or providing information that may aid in combating crimes.’’
