Seasoned politician Hon.Jimmy Akena who also doubles as MP for Lira Municipality vowed to revamp the Motorsport in the country and make it shine more so as to put Uganda on world scene.
This followed his election as Federation of Uganda Motorsport (FMU) president for the next term of office that will last for four years.
“The four term of office will be for revamping the sport such that we can also be visible at the international scene both continental and globally.’’ Hon. Aken said
Akena trounced his fellow politician the former Mayor of Mukono Municipality who has been in the sport for a long period on 57 votes against 16 and John Barrows Lumu the third contestant polled only 2 votes.
The Lira Municipality legislator will work with Hamid Gombe and Rynolds Kibira as his vice and general secretary respectively. Gombe beat Julius Sserunjogi. Other elected are, Arthur Blick Junior vice president (Motor bike) and Joshua Mayanja (Motor sport).
