Uganda People’s Defence Force (updf) has been flooded with 314 billion debts that updf has eaten from individuals and companies and various institutions that have been sending it goods from them.

According to updf in the past 2 years the army was owed 368 billion Ugandan shillings but it has tried to come up with 314 billion Ugandan shillings.

The country’s self-proclaimed overflow of water is due to the government’s low funding of the updf.

The documents also showed that the oil supplied Uganda people’s defence force’s (updf ) is estimated at Ugx 2 billion, while the rental buildings are worth Ugx 3 billion, the water and sewerage system is estimated at Ugx 14 billion, and the military accounts received from the sources are estimated at Rs 3 billion.

The 90 billion Ugandan shillings for electricity, 78 billion for retired soldiers, 10 billion for food and 10 billion for treatment of soldiers in private hospitals.

The budget for the next 2023-204 fiscal year is not allocated to the army and no payments are made to the army.

However, the army is stuck in debt of more than 314 billion rupees it is understood that the debt is talking about eating in the 2023-2024 fiscal year because the money allocated to the army in the military budget was still too low to cover all the needs.

Next fiscal year the army expects to retire 1,200 soldiers and needs 337 billion to pay their pensions

And the retirees also need their pension, but when 126 billion was given they left a debt of 180 billion to pay the pension.
