With increasing risks and negative effects of gas emissions from motor vehicles and escalating fuel prices, motorists have a case to smile after introduction and importation of gadgets that can help to reduce fuel consumption and gas emission.

The 2021 World Air Quality Report indicates that Kampala Capital City ranks the most polluted cities in the world, with pollution levels up to seven times higher than the recommended World Health Organization standards for safety.

This vice puts the lives of people living in Uganda at stake and over time government have been searching for remedies. It also prompted government to ban the importation of cars older than 15 years and a law was enacted to have this implemented so as to reduce on gas emissions from such old vehicles.

Supertech product is another direct answer to and solution to the challenges that result from ever expanding road transport sub-sector as well as reduction on gas emission from cars. The amazing product is imported by Calcigrub General Trading Company Ltd.

According to the company’s Managing Director Steven Estifanos, Steven Estifanos, Supertech is a crucial tool in the fight against air pollution which Ugandans should embrace if the country can realize the combating of environmental pollution.

“Supertech converts unburnt fuel into energy, reducing the amount of harmful smoke emitted into the air,” Estifanos stated at the launch.

The Supertech machine imported from Italy according to Estifanos targets unburnt hydrocarbons, thus enhancing fuel efficiency and reduction on environmental degeneration. Its technology can reduce gas emissions by up to 80% and fuel consumption by 12%.

The Minister of State for Kampala Kabuye Kyofatogabye expressed deep concern about the huge air pollution levels in the capital city, which has positioned the city among the most polluted not only in Africa but in the whole world.

“The shift to electric mobility is crucial for reducing harmful emissions and improving public health in the country,” Kabuye said. “By adopting E-motorcycles and electric vehicles, we can significantly cut down on air pollution.”

While presiding over the launch function, Hon Kabuye mentioned that the Ministry is leading a comprehensive approach to tackle environmental degradation and the strategies includes promoting electric vehicles (EVs), preserving wetlands and swamps, and advocating for widespread tree planting.
