The army and police are searching for a man suspected of being mad with two slaves in Kasabya Karegero village in Malongo subcounty lwengo district.
The man is unknown where he came from but residents said on Wednesday he was mixing in their village at Karegero village where people saw him carrying things on his head here so he called the pastor known as the makati to pray for him to get rid of the devil’s madness.
The paster stopped the man to pray for him but he refused so he put his things down and got prayers from the paster and took him to master MS building.
The pastor then took the bag containing the slave and washed him where he finished and prayed for the demons to leave him
People including the pastor were forced to check the rabbit’s burden but were surprised to find 2 Ak47 rifles in the rabbit’s possessions.
Residents screamed and alerted police but the man escaped into the cauliflower forest.
Residents said he was really crazy because he was carrying bottles and eating garbage food but they were also afraid that the one they called crazy had stones
The chairman of the township, John Francis Katende, urged the residents to always be with him and wants the police to be brought back.
Resident District Commissioner ( RDC )Charles Lwanga urged people to provide them with information as soon as possible so that they can enhance security
He said these days criminals are pretending to be crazy and he wants people to cooperate with the police and that the man is being investigated and they will arrest him but police have arrested the pastor and they are investigating him.
Police spokesman Fred Enanga said a madman who was picking up cans had stolen a slave from a mechanic in Bwabale but was arrested.
