Police Criminal Intelligence and Flying Squad have un covered details of how serial killer Isaac Niwagaba 32 years of age have been murdering his victims and dumping the bodies in bushes and on road sides.
Niwagaba a resident of Zzana, Wakiso District is alleged to have other homes in other parts of Kampala, and in his birth place of Rwekimuri Muhanga Town Council in Rukiga District from where he was arrested.
He was arrested after police got footage on CCTV Cameras showing the two different taxis he has been using to execute his dealings registration number UAU 737T and UAV 474Y. The serial killer has been overtime masquerading as a taxi driver commonly known as ‘Lubyanza’ meaning a driver without a specific stage.
By the time of his arrest he had just murdered Sandra Deborah Nangobi 21 years of age who has been working as an accountant of Duw Solutions company Ltd located in Nsambya Makindye Division and a resident of Kitende Zone B after Kajjansi.
Upon interrogation by detectives he admitted killing of other girls who fellow victim of his masquerading as a taxi driver. Judith Awori a waitress at Ark Restaurant in Lweza- Kajjansi and Jeninah Nassali 25 a student of AF-Kamwokya School of Language who was residing in Kawuku Ntebe road.
Niwagaba also led the Crime Intelligence police officers to recover three other dead bodies of girls who also fall victim of which one was set ablaze and burnt beyond recognition making it difficult to get the relatives of the deceased.
The killer was arrested together with two other young men who are identified as, Ronald Matovu 16 who he had rented a room and Abbas Katongole 20 both were working as his conductor in the taxi he was driving.
During his quizzing, Niwagaba astonished CIDs at Kibuli when he jokingly said, ‘’by the way do whatever you want to do on me, even if I die I am contented because I have accomplished my mission.’’
At this juncture the CID’s we asking him about Nangobi who had went missing just before his arrest amidst the present of the deceased’s relatives, he told Nangobi’s relatives to go and organize a vigil that chances of getting their daughter alive were minimal.
On hearing this, the family members of the decease(Nangobi) stoop up to grab and tear him into pieces but only to be calmed down by Police officers who were interrogating the culprit and this led to the posing of the exercise for a while.
After the scuffle, police resumed the quizzing Niwagaba and he said that he said he killed Nangobi and dumped her body at Ndejje- Lubugumu.
Nassolo Suzan Tendo the mother to the deceased (Nangobi) narrated while in tears, that she gave birth to five children of these two were girls and 2 of her boys died in a road crash yet her husband also passed on in 2008.
The other details of Niwagaba indicate that he had just been released from Luzira Prisons from where he was remanded for months having been charged of rape and the case was still not yet determined by court.
In a press conference held at Police Headquarters early this week, the police spokesperson Fred Enanga informed reporters that investigations were still continuing to ascertain whether there could be other girls who were also murdered in the same way by the culprit.
