Relief, as another notorious gangster, Mbazira Ronald alias Mgezi who has been leading one of the groups that have been terrorizing Kampala Metropolitan has been netted and he is behind the bars waiting to answer charges in courts of law.
The police spokesperson SCP. Fred Enanga revealed this to the media in a weekly press briefing held at Naguru Police Headquarters on Monday 7 July, 2023. He said that Police and other security agencies have been searching for him after he escaped from Katwe Police Station when together with his two accomplices identified as , Sendaula Jamil a.k.a Young and Akandwanaho had been taken to be medically examined.
Mbazira was re-arrest last week at Model and Gust house in Nyendo- Mukungwe a suburb of Masaka City having relocated to this place after he escaped and has been terrorizing Masaka and some of its neighbouring districts.
“ We have been all along searching for this notorious gangster leader who was leading a group that was terrorizing Kampala Metropolitan using guns and Machete-Wielding killing and stealing properties and money from their victims.“ SCP. Enanga said.
He said Mbazira and his allies ,Sendaula and Akandwanaho will be committed to court this week to answer 13 charges including; aggravated robbery, murder among others.
It’s also alleged that the trio were involved in the recent theft incidences including the stealing of a pistol from the home of a Prisons Commissioner Tumuhimbise Joremos in Mugongo Zone Kyengera town council, the also robbed Kizito Johor Ushs 90.
Other victims are Kobusingye Diana, Nalukwago Yudaya of Ushs 70.8 million and US $ 500 , John Garanga a South Sudan national was robbed of shs 500,000 and 6 mobile phones and a Chinese national who was also robbed of US $ 300 and 3 mobile phones,
Meanwhile another suspected robber a one Okello Ben a former security guard was also arrested and a gun which he has been using to terrorize residents of Kajjansi and the surrounding areas recovered.
According to SCP Enanga, the suspect Okello stole the gun SAR type from his former workmates at stoning one of them who was holding a gun while he had sent the other to buy chapatti for him. Having realised that police was searching for him he threw the gun at Bwebaja after stealing from Mulungi Perez’s home house hold items.
The police spokesperson said that he was dismayed to have the same man arrested for the second time still on the same offenses yet he was once committed to court mid last for having stolen a gun and using for robbing people.
