ARCHBISHOP SSEMOGERERE URGES YOUTH TO WORK HARD AND AVOID GAMBLING

The Archbishop of Kampala Catholic Archdiocese Paul Ssemogerere has urged the faithful to work hard instead of resorting to begging because they need to also share resources with the church.

He said that if the faithful are poor even the church will be poor and it will fail to take on social- economic project which are crucial for development due to the inadequate support.

 While officiating at St. Joseph Nansana Parish Day on 17th March, 2024, he cautioned the believers to embrace the good manner of humility like St. Joseph the Patron Saint of their Parish.

“This remaining period of the lent season should be used to save resources and what you have saved give to the needy who are in worse conditions.’’ The Archbishop advised

He reminded them of the three pillars of Christian fasting which include; fasting, vigorous players and doing acts of a Good Samaritan short of that they will not reap anything from the rent period.

Bishop Ssemogerere also urged the youth to avoid discriminating and undermining jobs because all jobs are created and blessed by God to help his people earn a living. He cautioned them to stop looking for money from gambling.

“Grab and embrace all development opportunities and programmes that are put in place for you for instances the CBS Radio POWESA , Parish Development Model. You should not get this development funds and use it for alcohol of buying meat just invest it to get a multiplier effect.” Bishop Ssemogerere advised.

He condemned the rampant acts of killings occurring in the country, he said the remaining to weeks on the lent season should help us to play to God to stop such behavior.

The Bishop also led the fundraising drive which aimed at mobilizing funds for the construction of the Nansana Parish second Arcade building were a total of more than 336 million were collected.

St. Joseph Nansana Parish was curved from Our Lady of Fatima Nakulabye Parish 17 years ago and it has 12 sub-parishes each with a catechist, 5 priests headed by Fr. Dr. Dominic Mwebe, after completing a two storied arcade project, they are determined now to commence a construction on a second one.

The function was graced by the Minister of State for Kampala who is also a parishioner in the same parish Kyofatogabye Kabuye, Nansana Municipality Mayor Regina Bakitte, Wakiso woman MP Betty Naluyima and Ambassador Caesar of Caesar University who also offered 5 scholarships to the parish in addition to the 10 million he contributed for the construction.
