City business man John Kabanda who is also the chairman of Kampala New Generation Traders Association continue to pin and squeeze real estate developer Christine Nabukeera and her son Vincent Mawanda  for  allegedly   breaking  into his shop and stealing merchandise and hard cash.

Kabanda   presented another witness,  for court to confirm that after  the occurrence of the alleged incidence that his fellow vendors called his number to inform him of what has happened. This was asked by Nabukeera’s Lawyer Dousman Kabega.

Kabanda long-time trader in Kampala and fellow traders on Friday 2, June, 2023 had their cheeks literally shine after seeing court process flow well and almost in their favor.

Kabanda and a team accuse Kampala based businesswoman and real estate developer Nabukeera claiming that she maliciously and unlawfully broke the door from his shop rising from failure to pay rent arrears that accumulated during the lockdown on 28th, July, 2020 after relief of Covid lockdown. In the process they stole shoes worth Ushs 350 million and hard cash Ushs 172 million.

Speaking to journalists after Court sitting, john Kabanda commended Court under Magistrate Sanula Namboozo for giving poor opportunity to have justice because on many occasions rich people connive with judges to deny justice to poor.

Kabanda’s side presented all the witnesses at once and convinced the court about the matter.

The Magistrate issued 16h day of June, 2023 as the date for the two parties to reappear to enable court look through documents presented by Kabanda’s side.

Kabanda said that this will not be his victory, but he believes it will be for all traders saying that many times there has been infringement on the poor’s’ rights hence denying justice to them and  this is now  time for  justice to prevail.

” I thank Court for standing with poor, Nabukeera always use money to bribe judges and give fake ruling and it has been the subject today but we were vigilant and defied justice Kamasanyu and we are contented this new magistrate will give us justice” Kabanda revealed.

He called on all traders across the country not to be silent when such malicious act is reached unto to them. Some of the traders who had escorted John Kabanda at Buganda Road Court bitterly condemned business lady Nabukeera for paralyzing their work but were so optimistic that justice will be by their side.

Moreen Kimanyi one of the traders following this case said that she witness when Nabukeera at her Nana center building along Nabugabo road and her son Mawanda were breaking into Kabanda’s shop because she has ever been a victim she decided to also to be a witness to see that traders receive justice.

She says that most of the Landlords in the city center normally infringe so much on the tenants’ rights but many fear to come out and commit them to courts of law because of the financial muscle the tycoons they think they can’t get justice.

Dailystarnewsug.com tried to reach out to the side of business lady, Nabukeera and his lawyer but the efforts were futile however all we observed right from the Court room is that Nabukeera and her people looked defeated by the looks of their faces.
