Catholic Priest Arrested on Murder Case was on Suspension for Stealing Church Offertory

The information regarding a catholic priest, Dominic Alinga who stubbed to death of Uganda Revenue Authority staff indicate that he had been suspended for stealing church offertory worth six million.

According to preliminary information gathered by police Alinga a suspended priest of Irir Parish in Kotido Diocese Nakapiripirit District on August 3, 2024 stubbed Ngorok John Bosco 30, in the neck along Kitooro to Entebbe International Airport at around 1:50 AM.

Ngorok  who was attacked to URA’s  Domestic Tax Department was rushed to Entebbe B Hospital but was pronounced dead just after 20 minutes later. Police immediately launched investigation and began tracking the suspect.

 It’s alleged that Alinga owed his victim eleven milling shillings and the deceased had met his assailant to ask for payment.

The Police Spokesperson Rusoke Kituuma said that Investigations into Alinga’s connection with the murder of Ngorok are still ongoing. Once complete, his file will be forwarded to DPP for advice after which the suspect will be committed to court.
