The opposition Democratic party (DP) calls upon president Museveni to Crack the whip towards the culprits of Karamoja Iron scandal when police finalizes its investigation.
During the last week’s cabinet meeting president Museveni directed investigation into cabinet ministers and other government officials over the alleged misuse of over ugx 39 billion which was meant for purchase of iron sheets and livestock for locals in Karamoja region.
The party secretary General Dr. Gerald Siranda who double as EALA member of Parliament, while addressing journalists today during the party weekly press conference at city house the party headquarters, said that on many occasions probes have been directed but after investigation culprits remain moving around which at times discourage public trust into government.
Siranda adds that ministers who are being investigated must step down to allow smooth investigation.
He disclosed that president must show the public that is capable of fighting corruption when he bite those who will be found guilty.
Meanwhile Dr.Siranda says the public and police must pay more attention to National Social Security Fund(NSSF) money and believe Karamoja is a diversionary issue because a lot of tax payers’ money is lost every time and people involved never worked upon them accordingly.
