He bushed his critics whom he leballed as Hippocrates and cone men who are in day time claim to be ardent DP members who can’t work with the ruling party and president Museveni yet during night they meet him and even get money.
“I don’t see anything wrong with the opposition party meeting the president and dialogue about the pertinent political issues concerning about the Uganda’’. Mao said.
He also added on,“ it’s not prudent for us as opposition political parties to remain radicle because this will not win us the state house seat like other opposition leaders thick’’.
He also cited out an example recently were the president of Tanzania met with the leading opposition political party leader in Tanzania and that if it was the former president of South Africa the late Nelson Mandela to pursue a peaceful means of changing power there would still be chaos in such a country.
Mao gave an example of countries in Africa were seating presidents have been removed through radicalism such as Libya, Sudan and others but they have failed to get a stable government.
He said his party will continue to pursue a peaceful transition for change of power and he disagrees with that opposition who agitate for radicalism and the NRM cadres who also agitate that Museveni should continue ruling until God calls him.
Chairman Moa as commonly referred to by the people of Gulu said that since his appointment as minister for Constitution Affairs he has been studying the situation on what should be done to ensure a peaceful transition and he plans to do three things one, ensuring a constitution review before 2026 general election, oversee the National dialogue to determine the political way forward and consensus building.
“ Ugandans need a generation of new leaders and my office is mandated now to ensure that this happens peacefully. We what to borrow a leaf from the Democratic Republic of Cong, Tanzania and Kenya who are our neighbors on how they did it to avoid taking the path of the likes of Sudan and Libya.’’ Mao reasoned.
He also said his party has spent over UGX 400 million in trying to ensure that opposition takes over leadership of the country but other leaders from other opposition political parties have betrayed his party.
Moa said DP members of parliament have talked to him and support his idea but they tell him that they can’t come out and agitate for what he is cooking because their constituents do not believe with opposition working with the ruling party.
