The Archbishop of Church of Uganda Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu has called on president Museveni to quickly ascent to the homosexuality bill that was passed by parliament two weeks ago.
While delivering his Easter message in a press conference at his residence in Namirembe , the Archbishop said that homosexuality has become a huge challenge to the country because of the mindset of many Ugandans who think they can get free money when they get involved homosexuality acts.
He said that there is an agent need by leaders at all levels and of various aspects to find out how best people minds can be transformed because they are stuck in poverty mindset which is a many cause of the rampant spread of the ‘Sodomy’ immorality in the country.
“ We are stuck with a poverty mindset; we think we can’t leave without donations from international Agencies. We always think we are poor and this makes us to adhere to whatever western ways of living because we fear losing their funding.’’ Dr. Kazimba said.
He further said that Uganda has resources gifted to it by God and can uses these resources through hardworking and get its people out of poverty and stop adhering to the conditions of donors who hide in the human rights while promoting their satanic behaviors.
‘’Jesus was risen to empower us to overcome comic of money. ‘’No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” Archbishop Kazimba quoted the bible.
The Archbishop also said that as church leaders, has for a long time talked and condemned the acts of corruption tendencies in the country but nothing has changed so far. It is from this not he called on the ministers to return the iron sheets and argued whoever stole anything to return it to the owner plus a small interest in it because that is what the bible teaches.
Dr. Mugalu also said that as we are fighting the homosexuality evil , we should for get to fight other evils such as corruption, defilement, fornication and rape because these are also very rampant they they have ruined the society.
Meanwhile the chairman of the committee that was put in place to oversee the payment of the church how debt , the former prime minister Patrick Amama Mbabazi said the church is remaining with only UGX 16 billion to clear the loan that was acquired to construct the church house building.
In 2021 news emerged that Equity Bank was planning to sale by auction the multi-billion church house build located along Kampala road for church’s failure to pay the outstanding loan and interest then and church leaders went into panic.
Mbabazi said that out of the total of UGX 46 billion that was acquired for the whole project, the church is yet to clear the remaining 16 billion and he gave the time line of September 2023.
