KCCA INSTITUTES LOCAL COUNCIL COURTS TO REDUCE CONGESTION IN COURTS.

In a bid to reduce on the back log of cases,Kampala capital city Authority has instituted local council courts to try and resolve some of the minor cases within the divisions of Kampala.

Local Council Courts are linked to the formal system through a system of appeals from the village court through to the Magistrates courts.
Starting with Kampala central division the locals council executives have elected Nasur Abdala as the chairperson of the local council court for central division which is commencing work with immediate effect.

The decisions of the village executive committee court (LC I) can be appealed to the parish executive committee court (LC II).
how ever the Chairman Elect says they will work with discipline and fairness to ensure that minor cases land neighborhood conflict,domestic cases and minor land cases like boundaries are handled amicably .
