The ministry of education and sports has launched the celebrations to mark the victory of Universal Primary Education (UPE) since its inception in primary schools in the country
and the ministry always thanks you for your contribution to the success of that program we can build on the achievements of the past 25 years in Uganda to through education of the country’s children.
Director of Basic Education Hajji Ismail Mulindwa said f that the government has done a lot to improve the education system in Uganda by investing in UPE.
The director in the ministry of education said that since its inception in 1997, upe has been a source of inspiration and has been running for many years.
He said UPE students have been able to study well in schools with upe system and they have also passed fasiti grade and scored fourth in PLE exams and UPE students are now better than private school students sitting final exams.
Mulindwa said the number of girls and boys enrolled in UPE schools he said would be a problem in the coming years as all people will be studying.
He said in the 25 years UPE has been in primary schools they have faced challenges such as lack of adequate buildings to educate students,
Teachers disappearing from schools not wanting to teach hunters and going back to their own.
He also said they do not have enough teachers to teach the children of the country, and the hunters do not have books and pens while studying.
