Wakiso – Police in Wakiso have arrested five siblings over the murder of their brother for alleged failure to appease the dark spirits within the family.

The incident happened in Lulagala cell, Kavule ward in Nansana municipality, Wakiso district.

The deceased Aloizious Namwanja (37) was accused by his siblings of failing to appease the spirits and as a result, the spirits were allegedly haunting the family and also affecting the family fortunes.

“They tied him up, got sticks and assaulted him killing him instantly and thereafter set his body on fire,” said Fred Enanga the police spokesperson on Monday.

Enanga said four suspects Isaac Kawuki, Margret Namuburu, one Ndagire, Tony Bisaso (16), and Tamale Fredrick (17) are in custody.

The police mouthpiece condemned the act and noted that efforts are in place to trace and arrest Isaac Kawuki who was the mastermind behind this murder.
