The uganda Bureau of Statistics has launched a book and app portal to contain everything related to social SDG called metadata hand book.
In 2015, all the countries in the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It sets out 17 Goals, which include 169 targets. These wide-ranging and ambitious Goals interconnect. Goal 3 is to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. But it is also cross-cutting, so that progress in its implementation contributes to progress towards other Goals, and action on other Goals in turn contributes to attaining Goal 3. Most of the Goals also have some direct health targets. All of them have indicators by which progress can be measured.
The launch of the meta data hand book was held at the African Hotel in Kampala where the APP PORTAL will be available
The App will include the mate data hand book without the need to find a UBOS employee to tell about Data information when one will go to the App to get information or use the manual.
Meta data hand book contains information related to health, agriculture, mixtures and education all available on the App as well as the book.
Dorothy Kankwasa said that the book will help them to collect information and who has given them this information so that they can select and sort out the truth to serve the people.
She said Uganda Bureau of Statistics has partnered with UNFPA, UNDP, UNwomen and European union to publish the mate data hand book.
He encourages people to visit the UBOS website to see the book which contains the materials they have already researched.
Aliziki K Lubega Director Economic statistics said the meta data hand book and app containing everything they have researched will help UBOS where it does not reach when one goes to the APP or the book to know everything.
He said the MetaData handbook will be shared with the Government to know what people need in their lives
