The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party lower cadres have embarked on mobilization action for President Museveni 2026 presidential bid using songs and they have planned to traverse the country in this mobilization strategy.
This was revealed by singer Nsereko Emma commonly known as munnamasaka who composed Museveni Awooma album that was launched by the president himself franked by his wife Janet Kataha last weekend.
Nsereko while addressing journalist in Kampala on September 22, 2023 on the launch of Museveni ‘Awooma’ 2026 National and International Drive Extra said that President Museveni gave him a green light but there are party members who have self-fish interest fighting him and they never wanted even the launch to occur but he managed to win them.
“ There are some cadres who are fighting us but we shall not be intimidated because we are doing this for our party and for our candidate come 2026 general elections. God enough Museveni who is the party chairman accepted it.’’ Nsereko said.
He further said that the campaign is aimed at sensitizing people in various parts of the country especially the youth about the development that has been spearheaded by Museveni and NRM government and also telling them to embrace government poverty alleviation programs through songs.
“ In our campaign strategy, we shall be moving with government technical people and a lot of singers such that we can tell Ugandans from the various parts of the country what government has done for them and what it’s planning to do in future.
He further said that they are just doing voluntary work when asked about the source of funding, that Ugandans who are NRM cadres will fund the campaign.
Local music singer Fred Ssebaale who franked Nsereko in the press conference said that people who don’t move to different parts of the country may not know and become aware of what government has done but through songs they will disseminate the information very well because they will also be showing videos.
Ssebale also argued the leaders in the various Umbureral Federations to join them and they should not disguise Nsereko because of his size and financial status that he has the brains to mobilize for the party.
