Prime Minister Nabbanja Robinah with some of the Kakumiro District official commissioning a schools project.
The Prime Minister, Rt. Hon Nabbanja Robinah in panicky moments as time is running towards 2026 general elections, she lives in fear of losing both her parliamentary seat and position of being number four in the country.
These days she doesn’t miss a week without going back to her constituency as long as she is in the country. Her opponents put her on panic and now she organizes frequent workshops were she invites her area local leaders to attend such that she can keep in touch with them, she even give them some allowances.
In the exercise of commissioning the newly constructed District projects, Nabbanja was also paying the debts which she incurred in 2016 in the different sub-counties while campaigning for the parliamentary seat, giving her creditors an accuse that she had forgotten.
The Premier commissioned the ICT/Library block and site handover for the construction of a classroom block at St Edward’s Bukuumi S.S, presided over a site handover for the construction of an OPD block and staff houses at Mukoora HC111 and commissioned the construction of a classroom block at St Joseph’s Nkooko SS.
While at Kisita HC111, she also handed over the newly allocated ambulance for Bugangaizi East, launched Munsaana piped water scheme, and handed over a site for the construction of an ICT/Library block at Kitaihuka Seed secondary school and site for the construction of an OPD block, staff house and latrine facilities at Kikwaya HC111.
The Premier later in the same day commissioned St Matia Mulumba SS Birembo and handed over a site for the construction of a classroom, science laboratory at St Paul SS Kihumuro.
However , people in the constituency were not happy because the infrastructures she commissioned for instance the ICT and library buildings for the schools were empty and they will be useless for the sizeable future due to lack of equipment given the fact that even the budget allocation for the next financial year is all most in its final stages.
She is being accused of personalizing government programs and discrediting former leaders who left such projects a work -in- progress. This makes such leaders to belief that the Prime Minister is undermining their efforts and hard work they rendered while still serving in government.
People are also saying that the work she is doing is for Chairman LC5 and RDC, that she should also stop engaging Public servants during weekends when they are supposed to be working in their household projects since this is the only time they get.
People understand through lobbying by their former and current leaders Like Hon. Dr Kasirivu Atwooki, Hon. Mebal Bakeine, Hon. Twinamatsiko Onesmas, Hon. Kabonesa Juliet and Hon. Beningnya Mukiibi have made big contributions. But for her she is saying it is herself, Hon Fred Byamukama, with the help of funded projects in the district, have brought such development.
For example the ambulances sent to the District during covid-19 period by the government for easy referrals and prevention of transmission, the government gave each constituency an ambulance though they came late now she said she lobbied them with Aisha black organization which is false.
While presiding over all the events, Nabbanja also urged the community, local leaders to always be vigilant and ensure quality work and value for money.
She also called for combined efforts in ensuring the projects are well maintained and utilized to minimize service delivery related challenges.
Bugangaizi East MP Aisha Agaba ,Kakumiro LCV Chair Ssentayi Joseph, Deputy RDC Kakumiro, CAO Kakumiro among others graced all the events.
