All Africa weightlifting championship bronze medallist Lydia Nakidde has been voted and recognised as Uganda Sports Press Association of the month of February having trounced her closet challenger young golfer star Ronald Rugumayo.
Nakidde beat Rugumayo on 325 votes while the later score 245 and Uganda U-17 women team which eliminated continental Footballing power house Cameroon team in FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers got 240.

The sixty kilogram weight lifter finished in the just completed All African Championship, in Egypt last month’s bag the first ever women gold for the country enhancing her chances of qualifying for the next Olympic games which will take place in Paris, France mid this year.
To bag the only gold ever, Nakidde competed with other 10 powerful women notably from Egypt, Nigeria and Algeria among others.

While Agnes Nabukenya the Uganda Women Premier league leading top scorer, worn the young player of the month having help U-17 to eject Cameroun in the category women world cup qualifiers when she netted in both legs one goal each and 1 assist beating her only challenger Breand A a Basketball player.
Deo Kasozi Akiiki, the president of Kira FC also has worn the sporting award accolade for his able leadership that so his club climb at the summit of the premier league having leapfrogged Bull FC.
