NUP’S EDRINE WAFULA SECURES KYAMBOGO UNIVERSITY GUILD PRESIDENTIAL SEAT

National Unity Platform (NUP)  Edrine Wafula Koholo  is the newly elected Kyambogo University’s  guild president.

National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate, Edrine Wafula  a third year Engineering student has been elected Kyambogo University’s 19th guild president.

He was declared winner of the hotly contested guild race by Kyambogo’s returning officer, Brian Rwakijuma after obtaining the largest number of votes in the election held on January 5, 2023 at the university

 Wafula garnered  3175 votes against his closest challenger  Yunus Ssengooba’s(UYD)  2307) while Brian Okori of FDC garnered 2092 votes.

Micheal Nkwanga an independent candidate came fourth with only 703 votes followed by NRM’s Steven Katete and Alfred Alioni(independent) who gathered 327 and 108 votes respectively.

“By the power entrusted to me, I declare Edrine Wafula Koholo having obtained the largest number of votes, the winner for guild presidential electoral race 2022/2023,” Rwakijuma said.

Meanwhile, Wafula was congratulated by the NUP’s fraternity led by party president, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentumu a.k.a Bobi Wine.

“Congratulations comrade Edrine Wafula upon being elected Kyambogo University Guild President. May you have the courage, the will, and the clarity of purpose to fulfil your promises to the students who have entrusted you with their votes. Go and serve, my brother,” Kyagulanyi tweeted.
