Spritendant Vicent Elima of Kawempe Police Station hired out the killer gun in the murder incidence of Mukisa Ronnie a former clerk to IPC Advocate, Police Spokesman SCP Fred Enanga told journalist at the weekly press conference held at Nauru based Police Headquarter on June 12, 2023.
Enanga said after 11 days of investigation, the Police CID working with CMI gathered information linking the four suspects identified as Cpl. Geoffrey Anyuka who deserted the army sometime back, Coreb Robert Kilama a business man and his wife Nalwoga Brenda Cathy and these are detained in different places awaiting to be produced to court after completion of investigations.
Mukisa 45, was shot dead at his home in Kasana LCI Village Makindye Ssabagabo , Wakiso District on May 30 2023 at around 1:30PM according to police.
It’s alleged that Anyuka who was initially attached to the 1st Batallion of the Operation ‘Suja’ was hired by Kilama and his wife Nalwoga who knew the victim and were business partners to the deceased to eliminate him after developing a business dispute according to the phone call information retrieved by both CID and CMI.
The Police spokesman informed the reporters that the intelligent information gathered indicate that Elima was a friend to Kilama and his wife while he was still at Entebbe Police Station and he used to help them whenever they would get problems and this prompted the duo to contact him for gun hire.
Corporal Anyuka who according to SCP Enanga was self-acting body guard to Kilama by the period of the murder incidence and he admitted after interrogation that he hired an AK47 gun from SP. Elima
On the deceased’s fateful day, Anyuka trailed his victim right from his place of work along .. up to his home in Kasana LC1 village Kulambira on a bodaboda motor cycle while the victim was driving a Subaru Legacy registration no… and he shoot at him 4 bullets while he was closing the gate.
The assailant then jumped on a waiting bodaboda motor cycle and disappeared but he called Nalwoga first just after the incidence and informed her that he had accomplished the mission and this is how the two intelligence agencies came to link the quartet accomplice.
Enanga also said that, 2 AK47 rounds of ammunition, 2 military uniforms and a pistol were recovered from Kilama’s home and that the killer gun had 2 magazines of 30 rounds but 2 bullets were missing from one magazine and these have been handed to the police’s forensic experts for further examination to and confirm that they were from the AK 47 that was used in the mission.
