Uganda-Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo boarder

Enanga also revealed that on February 25, 2023, the DR Congo security operatives arrested a mother in her early 20s with two children aged 3and 5 years respectively and other younger girls aged 11, 13 and 15 years were also arrest on the same day while entering the forests of Congo where ADF rebels are suspected to be operating from. These were handed to the UPDF mountain Division brigade and upon interrogation, they revealed that they were coming from Busika, Njeru sub-county, Jinja District.

He said the DRC security operatives were tipped off by their counter parts from Uganda having received intelligence that ADF rebels have now changed tactics and are no longer recruiting the youthful people because these can easily be detected while moving and the rebel leaders have now resorted to recruiting children and younger women whom they groom and use them in spying on government security forces.

Enanga also made caution to parents to be vigilant and not to give their children to people whom they are not well conversant with activities they are doing because the ADF recruiters disguise as giving bursaries to the children and in the end they train and use them in their rebel and terrorism activities.
