Grieve in Southern Sudan community as family loses six children in fire outbreak that occurred in Mulanda B, Kisubi a long Entebbe road.
The Kampala Metropolitan police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire revealed that fire outbreak occurred at approximately 1:00am in Mulanda B, Kisubi Parish in Entebbe, Wakiso District claiming six lives of Southern Sudan Nationals.
Owoyesigyire also said that on receiving a distress call from a community member, the OC of Kisubi Police Station immediately responded and found six children of Bakita Ayang a South Sudan National between 2 and 16 years had already succumbed to the fire.
Fire brigade police from Entebbe Police Division together will officers from Kisubi station arrived at the scene a few minutes later and they managed eventually to extinguish it and the bodies of the deceased were recovered and taken to the city mortuary for postmortem examinations.
He also said that Initial observations suggest that the fire originated from an electronic kettle left connected to a socket in the sitting room. However Owoyesigyire also said that further inquiries will be conducted to determine the exact cause of the fire.
