SOCIAL MEDIA FRAUDSTERS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED & TOOLS USED TO VANDALIZE CARS RECOVERED

it’s alleged that in the month of March 2023 the complainant one Katusiime Provia was contacted by unknown person through Facebook  using names of NAKAYIMA BRENDA    that she wanted to be helped to withdraw money from ABSA bank. 

Later the suspect linked the complainant to another unknown person on tel 0706293631 who tricked her by telling her to send money through mobile money on tel 0778957184 in different intervals totaling to approximately Shs 550000 Later the said unknown persons told the complainant to meet at Nateete near Labamba bar which she did but after informing police. 

The said suspect were travelling in motor vehicle  toyota isis reg no UBL 496A silver black in colour but after realizing that police was about to arrest them they drove off but kept on telling the complainant to send them more money.

On the 12/4/2023  the said vehicle UBL496A was impounded by police officers from Nateete and its occupants LUTALO VICENT and KIJAMBU EDWIN were arrested.

Upon reaching police a search was conducted in the said Motor vehicle and a number of different dangerous weapons were recovered fro there

Police spokesman Patrick Onyango said the Scene of crime was visited by Scene of crime officers and information gathered documented.

Two suspects arrested in custody while others at large.
