WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN HER ROOM

The territorial Police at Katwe are currently investigating a tragic incident of sudden death that occurred in Kanyanya Zone, Ndejje Division, Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality in Wakiso District. The incident was reported to the police on 29th April 2023 at approximately 8 AM by the home owner.

Upon arriving at the scene of crime, the police discovered that Ayiyo Sylvia, a maid in the reporters residence , had passed away while frying chips in her room. The doors and windows to her room were closed, and it is suspected that this could have resulted from carbon monoxide poisoning as she was using charcoal for cooking.

To establish the exact cause of death, the body of the deceased has been conveyed to the city mortuary Mulago for Postmortem. Statements have also been recorded from the home owners, which will aid in the ongoing investigations.

The spokesman for the police Luke Owoyesigyire said,would like to take this opportunity to advise the general public and homeowners to avoid cooking in rooms that are not properly ventilated, as this can be a significant health risk. Carbon monoxide poisoning can have severe health consequences, and we urge everyone to take necessary precautions.

The Police will provide more details on the incident as soon as possible.
