The Uganda Taxi Operators Federation, UTOF), the new leader for the taxi industry in Kampala today, they applauded the KCCA Executive Director, Dorothy Kisaka, for her rallying message of Kampala City dwellers towards a Smart City. Kisaka met the group led by the Chairman UTOF Rashid Ssekindi and the General Secretary UTOF Mayambala Mustafa.

KCCA Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago together with KCCA Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka held a historical meeting today with the taxi leadership in Kampala.
The meeting held at City Hall lower gardens brought together five formerly warring factions in the taxi industry. The five leaders have decided to work together under the umbrella of UTOF, Uganda Taxi Operators Federation
The unprecedented Taxi Industry event gathered over five hundred taxi operators; owners, drivers, taxi conductors, and stage managers. Both the Lord Mayor and the Executive Director welcomed the united group UTOF, saying its the way to go.
Kisaka said the unity of the warring factions will advance the Smart City Agenda which among other things focuses on people well being as a key pillar in city development.
