Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA) on November 2, 2023 announced the acquisition of the services of former Uganda Cranes star David Obua as head coach.
The Duty Collectors confirmed the appointment of Obua on a twelve months deal which will be subject to renewal basing on his performance. “We are happy to announce the appointment of David Obua as the new head coach of the club on a one-year contract.” The club statement posted on their website reads in parts.
Obua has replaced Sam Timbe (RIP) who passed away in August this year and since then, Fred Muhumuza who was his assistant has been serving in interim capacity since then. Muhumuza will stay at the club but only as the second assistant with Peter Byaruhanga Adyeri coming on board as first assistant coach.
This is the first time that Obua will be serving as a head coach in the top flight league since his embarking on the coaching career. He has formerly served as coach of Lango Province in the FUFA Drum and occasionally football analyst in Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
