Deputy Speaker, Thomas Tayebwa has denied allegations that Parliament refused to pay for the treatment of MP Ssegirinya abroad, saying the medical board that Parliament relies on to authorize such payments hasn’t received any application from Ssegirinya about his medical condition.
“I have cross checked, the Medical Board hasn’t received any application from Hon.Ssegirinya but also the Speaker & Office of Clerk hasn’t received any formal information from Hon.Ssegirinya about his treatment. Let us be pro-active and see how best we can help him, because the state he is in, he isn’t able to come and do the application, so whoever can reach out to his relatives, please bring his documents so that we present them to the medical board to see how best our colleague can be helped,” Tayebwa.
