police in Wandegeya have arrested 10 women for participating in illegal gatherings and inciting violence.

The suspects were arrested from Kalerwe Zone, Mulago III, Kawempe Division.

The women with chains on their hands who were educated said they could not celebrate Women’s Day when their husbands were kidnapped by the Museveni government and others were burnt their passports

The suspects were holding placards that read; ‘stop torturing’, ‘Release my husband’, ‘We want justice for Mrs Olivia Lutaya’,.

Its alleged that they organized a protest from National Unity platform offices in Kavule, then moved one by one and gathered at Zakaria plaza and converged upto Kalerwe market.

The suspects are being held at Wandegeya Police Station:

1. Kyeone Stella.

2. Nakiku Allen.

3. Namatovu Milly.

4. Tomorrow Fiona.

5. Sselonga Rukia.

6. Well Jackie.

7. Nantume Allen.

8. Sylvia, clerk.

9. Ramuto Apio Flavia.

10. Lady Elizabeth.

However, the women fought with the police as they were loaded onto a police vehicle for refusing to remove the chains.

The women say they do not have enough money to support their children because of their husbands who are in jail without any crime and are imprisoned for political reasons and therefore they want the Government to release them.

The women with chains on their hands who were educated said they could not celebrate Women’s Day when their husbands were robbed by the Museveni government and others were burnt their steam iron.
