Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje has appealed to the government not to discriminate against Muslims in the allocation of jobs in its institutions. He said leaving them behind has led to many government programs not going well , he said there are currently many educated Muslims with enough experience to work in government in all positions.
Mufti Mubajje was speaking at a meeting with the head of the office of the NRM Chairman Hajjat Hadija Namyalo at the main mosque in the country.
During the meeting, Mubajje urged the government to implement the Islamic Savings Scheme, which he said would help Muslims to borrow money without interest as per their religion. He also did not leave out the issue of Parish Development Model which he said is also contrary to Islamic beliefs.
The chairman of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, Hajji Lubega, said it was time for the government to start helping Muslims by providing them with tractors, seeds and other farming equipment. He said the government is doing this in other religions.
Hajjat Namyalo said she came to know how Muslims can benefit from the government’s schemes including PDM and others , but she regretted that Muslims have no one to hold their hand but promised to do something for them.
He also donated breakfast items including rice, sugar , flour and others.
