Police Arrest Suspects in 15o million robbery, gun Recovered

Police in Kyotera have arrest key suspects involved in the robbery of  Ugx 150 million from Pulinali Semanda a 53 year-old businessman and owner of Zavuga coffee factory Investments.

The suspects are identified as Mwanje Gerald, a.k.a Kigere Muzeeyi who according to the police spokesperson the prime suspect and confessed of his involvement in the robbery having shown the CCTV camera footage.

Others are Joseph Kagimu alias Bruno who allegedly held the victim at gunpoint with an AK-47 rifle. Another suspect is identified as Alex Luke also kwon as Dodo a bodaboda rider and was responsible for transporting his accomplice to and from the scene, while Alex Nabbimba a witch craft  was their spy tasked with surveillance to alert them of any security presence.

It’s alleged that Semanda victim was ambushed at his home in Kalisizo after withdrawing the cash amounting to UGX 150 million from Centenary Bank in Kyotera, intended for paying workers and coffee suppliers.

 Police also arrested Senteza Fred, a 25-year-old boda boda rider and brother to Mwanje, who was sent by Bruno to retrieve his car from a washing bay after sensing police activity. He is currently assisting authorities in locating other suspects still at large.

After the robbery, the suspects purchased vehicles, which were subsequently impounded by the police.

However CP. Rusoke Kituuma the police spokesperson informed reporters in the weekly joint security briefing on 9th September, 2024 at Naguru that only four million cash have been recovered alongside with the gun.

Rusoke said that more investigations are still ongoing to see that other suspects in the gang are arrested using the information got from those netted and after they will be committed to courts of law to answer charges of robbery and holding a gun illegally.
