Mobile phone dealers in Kampala have called upon the government to come up with the directive to some mobile phone companies which are fighting from the businesses.
While at the press conference held at Master Plaza building Bombo Road traders led by Patrick Mugerwa said that they are frustrated in their business because they are facing a lot of challenges from those big Mobile Companies that supplies them with phones for sale, in that if they found them with different types of phones they confiscate all their cargo plus other belongings yet some are on loans.
He added that they have no business now because those big companies are fighting their brand yet they pay taxes for those items but now they have no jobs yet they have a lot to full fill and even have damages in the business
They want those called so big companies to comply with them allow them to sale other types of phone because it increases on their profits that helps them to pay other necessities.
Jordan Kanamwanje said that they have given the government an ultimatum of two weeks to come up with the directive but if it fails they are going to inform all those in mobile phone business to put on strike in the country because they are tired of losses yet they paying taxes heavily.
Zurayika also a mobile phone seller at Kafumbe Mukasa road in Kampala also asked the government to regulate monopoly tendency because it ruins the business and also to allow consumers to exercise their right of choice to buy what the want.
Other mobile Phone dealers argued that these companies has vowed the ministry of trade to come out and fight monopoly in their business because it discourages potential customers from accessing the product which is danger to their business yet they started it with an aim of generating profits to stimulate their well being but if monopoly persists they are going to put fire in the country because they also need fairness.
