POLICE ARRESTED 5 ROBBERS

Operation, which was conducted on suspected Panga-Wiellding criminals in Gayaza Trading Center

On March 7th,2023, police received information about a gang of criminals who were armed with guns at Gayaza Trading Centre, Gayaza, Kasangati Town Council, Wakiso District.

The officers, along with Namajye, started tracking in the area, and at 2230/C, officers from Kasangati Police Station conducted a raid and arrested five people. The arrested include Kawoya Charles, 17years old, Sekubuge Akiram 23-years old, mwesigwa Enock 32-years-old ,Sagara Denis 27 years old, Mwanja Ivan 31years old and a woman . Nekesa Rachael, 29 years old and Richard Mwesugwe’s wife, is believed to be the commander of the army still in peace.

During the raid, police recovered eight Pangas, six panases, five spanas, two motorcycles (UEF 094E Yamaha’s red, UEK 221S Bajaj Boxer Red), and a box with nails. It was discovered that the criminals were planning to attack the Namugongo area.

Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, said further investigations are ongoing, including the search for the killers’ homes and efforts to track down those who are still free. Police are asking people to report all suspected acts of authorities
